Gentle waves, sheer curtains blowing on a sea breeze and craggy coast-meets-bush views are the norm at The Burrows in Swansea.â â Inviting disconnect and relaxation, the restored holiday cottage was originally intended as a bolthole for owners Bek Burrows and Paul DeRuyter. "The beds are sumptuous, but the doors are old, the laundry has a concrete floor, and there's no dishwasher," says Bek. "It's not about living with the latest appliance or technology." â â Step inside via the link in bio.â â Photography: @adam.gibson.photo @abbie_melleâ Styling: @bellebrightproject @lynda.gardenerâ Words: @hilaryburdenâ â #tasmania #cottage #coastalcottage #holidayhome #weatherboardhome
Plump roses, meandering paths and tumbling wisteria; it doesnât get much more beautiful than Little Oak, a quaint property near Cygnet, Tasmania. âI have no doubt that Little Oak spoke to who I really was, and it returned me to that,â says creator Pip, who has since entrusted the beloved property to new owners. French-style farmhouse, but make it Australian.â â Nestled in the quiet rural village of Trentham on top of central Victoria's Great Dividing Range, this pretty home with its terracotta tiled roof and powder blue shutters could have been transported straight from Southern France.â â Unsurprisingly, it was a love affair with this exact part of the world that saw owners Narelle and Andrew create this home on a half-hectare block. "French farmhouses are not often fancy," says Narelle, "and we wanted to make sure it was a simple design."â â Recently listed for sale, you can step inside this stunning home via the link in bio.â â Photography: @lisacohenphotoâ Styling: @tess.newman.morrisâ Words: @ginimhoffâ â #frenchstylehome #frenchprovincialstyle #farmhouse #trenthamvic #countryhome
âWe love being creative, recycling and bringing things back to life,â says builder Andrew Saran, who restored this farmhouse in the Hills District alongside his wife, Vicki who owns Kiama homewares store, Deer Willow. â â Together, the couple make a good team. âIâm good at designing and Vicki is good at the finishing touches and pulling things together,â he says. â â Tour their home, which overlooks the Berowra Valley, by tapping the link in our profile.â â Photography: @nicgossageâ Styling: @natalieejohnsonâ â #renovationideas #ornamentalgrapvine #climbingvine #countryverandah #coastalfarmhouse #countrydog
After tiring of the tropes of city living back in 2020, full-time mum Harriet and her fiancĂŠ Brad, a beverage company owner, made the move down south, where the main source of distraction is the crashing of waves.â â Purchasing an old, haphazardly renovated home the pair soon turned their attention to bringing it back to life. "My main objective was to give the house some old character and also make it functional and clean for family living," explains Harriet. "I really wanted to use as much second-hand [decor] as possible."â â Take a tour and see the home's transformation via the link in bio.
Previously occupied by a roofing company, and then an antiques dealer, this cottage required a lot of work when award-winning artist Zoe Young moved in. â â "I laugh when I think of our first days in the house," reflects Zoe. "We were so happy to just have a space of our own that we were truly blind to all the work that needed to be done."â â Tap the link in our bio to take a tour and see the home's transformation.â â Photography: @lisacohenphotoâ Styling: @becksimonstylist â â #deck #cottagestyle #stilllife #garden #weatherboardhome #countrygarden
Embracing this 30s Californian bungalow in Ballarat also meant embracing a more 'city' way of living for Kirby and her family; husband Jack, three young boys and one girl, who previously lived in Nowhere Creek. â â Things mundane to some, like traffic lights and food delivery, were great sources of excitement for the clan, but for Kirby that same thrill came from updating their new home. "It had beautiful bones, but definitely needed some love poured into it," she says. "We've kept in mind that this is our family home long-term, so we put a lot of love into it."â â Step inside via the link in bio.â â Photography: @marniehawsonâ Styling: @bellebrightprojectâ Words: @penny.carrollâ â #californianbungalow #countrytown #ballaratvic #regionaltown #countryhome

A shared passion for design, hospitality and their local community inspired two couples to transform a hundred-year-old weatherboard cottage in Dubbo, NSW, into a refined holiday home for regionalâ travellers.â â Aptly named 'The Repose', the property has been designed to offer respite and a space to disconnect: while there's Wi-Fi, there's no TV - and that's how guests like it, says co-owner Jemima Aldridge.â â Take a tour via the link in bio.â â Photography: @abbie_melleâ Words: @shmivvâ Location: @the_reposeâ â #dubbonsw #regionalaustralia #visitnswâ #airbnbaustralia
It's not unusual for guests at Montville Lake Terrace to wish the immaculate Queenslander was home for more than just a fewâ days.â â With sweeping views of the Sunshine Coast hinterland and plenty of places to soak them in, this luxurious guest house is an heavenly place to stay.â "It's this idyllic Queenslander with a white picket fence, dark wooden floors and a beautiful kitchen." says owner Heidi.
