Just when you thought "The White Lotus" Season 2 had established its main core of characters came the tease of a new hottie coming in the midst. Towards the end of the third episode, called "Bull Elephants," Portia (Haley Lu Richardson), the conflicted assistant to Tanya McQuoid-Hunt (Jennifer Coolidge), is sitting by the pool when she crosses paths with another guest -- a sexy 20-something about to take a dip. Silently, he shows all kinds of signals and thirsty energy as he shows off for Portia's benefit, that is, until he lands in the pool and cries out how cold the water is. As he swims, he stares at Portia sitting by the pool and she returns his look; but before something can develop, she is interrupted by Albie (Adam DiMarco), the sweet American with whom she is having a flirtatious relationship. This marks the first sighting of Jack (Leo Woodall) in the series, but he is said to play a larger role. He plays the nephew to a British expat (Tom Hollander), who are also vacationing at the luxury Sicilian resort. What part Jack (or his uncle) play in the remaining -- and the show's murder -- remain to be seen, but Jack in the pool certainly caught the eye. Woodall is a 26-year-old British actor who has been working in the industry since 2019. Among his acting roles are has appeared in the shows "Vampire Academy" and "Holby City," along with the movie "Cherry" and a short called "Man Down." Up next, he's set to star in a movie called "Nomad," and in the show "Citadel." Zander Murray is the first top-flight Scottish footballer to come out as gay, but it hasn't been without issues. This past weekend Murray revealed that "horrible" homophobic hate mail has been sent to his club. Saying he has been "humbled" by the support from fans after his historic coming out in September, he explained that several hateful leaflets were sent directly to him at his club, including one titled "Homosexuality in light of the Bible," PinkNews reported. "Don't mind trolls on social media, but to go out your way and send hate mail to my club?," Murray tweeted. "Such horrible words and so out of touch with reality," he said. The Minnesota Vikings pay tribute to veterans during their games, such as this past game on Sunday with the Dallas Cowboys. To locate the vets, they tweeted an offer for the chance to win free tickets for sharing a veteran's information, including pic, that would be shown on the stadium's Jumbotron. "We're honoring our nation's service members, veterans, and their families during Sunday's game against Dallas," the official Vikings account wrote in the days leading up to Sunday's game. "Share photos and stories of your loved ones who have served or are currently serving using #SkolSalute for a chance to have them featured on the video board Sunday." But this past weekend, the Vikings were trolled with a pic of an adult male star who had donned military fatigues for a role. Military Times reports: "As if getting bludgeoned 40-3 at the hands of the Dallas Cowboys wasn't embarrassing enough, one unfortunate stadium jumbotron operator took the Minnesota Vikings' humiliation a step further by falling for a faux 'Salute to Service' photo featuring a porn star." The pic was sent by a Twitter user, who wrote: "This is my cousin Joel who served in the Army. He has always been an inspiration and someone I look up to for his heroism. He is also a HUGE Vikes fan #skolsalute." This wasn't the first time Sins pic was used in this manner. In 2021, journalist Ken Klippenstein punk'd Naomi Wolf, a feminist author and former adviser to President Bill Clinton, into tweeting a fake anti-vaccine quote attached to a photograph of Sins, reported RT.com. "Klippenstein messaged Wolf with the fake quote image, which featured famous porn star Johnny Sins dressed up as a doctor in an adult movie and read, "If a vaccine is effective, then why do we need to pressure people to take it?" The quote was attributed to 'Dr. John Sims, MD.' It wasn't long before Wolf published the quote on her own Twitter account, at which point Klippenstein took credit for the prank. As LGBTQ+ storytelling becomes more accepted amongst the general audiences, producers behind the TV screen have been afforded an influx of creative liberties in telling their narratives. Hulu is carving out its niche as the go-to place for salacious "ripped from the headlines" limited series demonstrating the downside to fame and fortune. Earlier this year, we saw "Pam & Tommy" dramatize the leaking of the world's most famous sex tape. Now, Hulu's showing the dark origin story of everyone's favorite cuffed exotic dancers in "Welcome to Chippendales." Dreaming of becoming rich, gas station attendant-turned-entrepreneur Somen "Steve" Banarjee (Kumail Nanjiani) originally sets out to open an upscale baccarat club in Los Angeles. Despite his calculations about the hole in the marketplace for such a club, it doesn't take off. However, a chance encounter with a Hollywood starlet/Playboy model and her boyfriend makes him see that the path to achieving his wealth is paved in oiled-up hot bodies instead of board games. But as the money flies in, Banarjee spirals and is willing to do anything to murder โ quite literally โ the competition and maintain his position. Creator Robert Siegel walks the line perfectly of mixing the shady underbelly with the more dramatic human interactions while never becoming overly serious. He knows what the people are here for, and is more than willing to give you plenty of hot bodies, pelvic thrusts, and clothes being ripped off. That said, he does infuse the show with issues like racism and discrimination that Banarjee faced and, in turn, perpetuated at the club by refusing to hire more than one dancer of color and resorting to other tricks to give the club an "elegant, exclusive atmosphere." Come for the titillating subject material, but stay for the performances โ okay, and the male strippers, too. "Welcome to Chippendales" may be an eight-episode limited series, but binging it in one sitting wouldn't feel like a chore. Interestingly, as Steve's spiral begins to occur the episodes get shorter, with the last few reaching just over a half hour. The decision came three days after beer sales at stadiums were suddenly banned under pressure from the Qatari government and two days after FIFA president Gianni Infantino delivered an extraordinary tirade defending the host nation's human rights record. The captains of seven European nations had vowed to wear armbands carrying the heart-shaped multi-colored logo of the "One Love" campaign, which promotes inclusion and diversity in soccer and society.
