Little doubt remains about what the Supreme Court plans to do with Roe v. Wade. But uncertainty abounds about ripple effects as the court nears a final opinion expected to overturn the landmark 1973 case that created a nationwide right to abortion. A leaked first draft of the majority opinion in the case, authenticated this week by the Supreme Court, suggests that a majority of justices are poised to toss out Roe. The draft's provocative rhetoric also is generating concern that LGTBQ+ advances and other matters based on the right to privacy could be vulnerable in a newly hostile political environment. "This is about a lot more than abortion," President Joe Biden warned Wednesday, saying the court's draft opinion could jeopardize same-sex marriage, access to contraception and LGBTQ+ rights. "What are the next things that are going to be attacked? Because this MAGA crowd is really the most extreme political organization that's existed in recent American history," Biden said. Court opinions can change in ways big and small throughout the drafting process. So while the eventual ruling in the abortion case appears all but assured, the written rationale â and its implications â may still be a hotly debated subject inside the court's private chambers. The draft's potentially sweeping impact could be tempered by the other justices, or it could emerge largely unchanged â with what advocates and Biden say could bring even more severe consequences. â â Tap link in bio to continue on @EDGEmedianetworkâ ?ď¸â?â¤ď¸??â ?: Getty

Out Canadian Mattea Roach continues her winning streak on "Jeopardy," and is again bringing queer representation to the forefront on the popular quiz show. Earlier this year trans contestant Amy Schneider had a streak of 40 wins, second only to the show's current host, Ken Jennings, who won 74 straight wins in 2004. But for Roach, sexuality is not all that germane to her winning streak, though she has been open about it. "She hasn't made a big thing out of her sexuality, but nor is it a secret," writes the website Coast Reporter. "Her Twitter bio, which reads "lesbian, Nova Scotian, 19x Jeopardy champ," was deliberately crafted to satisfy viewers' curiosity because she figured people might wonder." With her wins, Roach is the sixth-longest running contestant in "Jeopardy" history. "Her cumulative winnings now total over $460,000 as of her 19th game Friday, and she boasts a 92% accuracy rate in her responses, per 'Jeopardy!'," reports CNN. "Roach is also the latest LGBTQ 'Jeopardy!' super-champion after Amy Schneider's triumphant run on the show. Schneider, a trans woman, earned more than $1.3 million in a 40-game win streak earlier this year, one of the longest streaks in the show's history," CNN adds. "It's been such an honor and a pleasure to be part of what has been such an incredible a legacy of queer and trans champions," Roach said in an interview with GLAAD, the LGBTQ media advocacy organization. "And also just queer and trans contestants really, like, showing up on the show and bringing a lot of flavor, I think, has been really fun for me to watch as a viewer."â â Tap link in bio to continue on @EDGEmedianetworkâ ?ď¸â????â ?: CBC

There's a handsome new face on the fifth season of "Elite," the hit Netflix series from Spain that follows three students who attend a top preparatory school attended by the country's elite. The series has developed LGBTQ+ storylines, exploring how different coming out can be from individuals from different social and economic backgrounds. Arriving at the school, La Encina, is Brazilian actor AndrĂŠ Lamoglia (@andrelamoglia) who plays IvĂĄn, the son of a popular football star with some secrets of his own. "IvĂĄn quickly grows close to Patrick (Manu Rios) but, in spite of their chemistry, he insists that he's straight. Meanwhile, he also has a thing for Patrick's sister Ari (Carla DĂaz)," reported the website Pop Buzz. But after some longing glances in the shower, IvĂĄn admits to being attracted to Patrick and they have an intimate scene together that Lamoglia discussed with the Spanish website Hugo Gloss. Before shooting the steamy scene, Lamoglia admitted he was nervous. "It was much more relaxed than I imagined. We have a whole preparation for that. At the time of these scenes, the team is all reduced on the set, at that moment there are only those that need to be there." He added that he didn't remove all his clothes in front of the cameras. "I'll leave it to your imagination! (laughs) Just kidding. It was the first time I had do some kind of scene with a little more intimacy. I didn't do any scenes completely naked, because as much as it was a sex scene, or something more intimate, we had protection, a sex cover. They call it a thong here. Or some sock, something like that. The crew is all set up for that kind of scene, so I felt particularly comfortable when I had do these scenes." He also explained a distinction between himself and the character. "I also feel that, as an actor, I'm a little protected by the character, because IvĂĄn is there, not AndrĂŠ Lamoglia. So I'm standing there defending the character and what the script asks of me." He told GQ Brazil that he got along great with co-star Manu RĂos, saying they have "a certain intimacy, a certain chemistry."â â Tap link in bio to continue on @EDGEmedianetworkâ ????â ?: AndrĂŠ Lamoglia @andrelamoglia
The Human Rights Campaign (@humanrightscampaign) rolled out a new billboard campaign last week in Tampa, Tallahassee, and Orlando, condemning Florida's "Don't Say Gay" law. As reported by The Hill, a total of seven billboards have gone live that welcome people to Florida "The Sunshine 'Don't Say Gay or Trans' State." HRC said in a news release that more billboards are scheduled to go up in South Florida over the next few days. "Florida's 'Don't Say Gay or Trans' law is outrageous and discriminatory. It needs to be repealed immediately," HRC Interim President Joni Madison said in a statement. "This billboard campaign is designed to make people confront what this terrible law really does: censor and silence educators and isolate LGBTQ+ students and their families." Once "Don't Say Gay" takes effect this summer, Florida parents will have greater authority to challenge learning materials and any school district believed to violate the measures stated in the law about gender ideology and sexuality.â â Tap link in bio to continue on @EDGEmedianetworkâ ??â¤ď¸??ď¸â?â ?ď¸: Emell D. Out country singer Steve Grand (@stevegrandmusic) posted a previously approved pic for his underwear line Grand Axis (@grandaxis) on Twitter and found his account suspended for "adult content." When Grand appeared on a recent cover of DNA Magazine, the 'All American Boy' singer wore revealing swimwear from his Grand Axis clothing line. But when he posted a pic to Twitter this week, his account for Grand Axis was temporarily suspended for violating the social network's "sensitive media policy." Twitter's explanation read, "You may not post media that is excessively gory or share violent or adult content within live video or in profile header, or List banner images." On his own account, Grand slapped back: "This is literally the exact same image I was using when they suspended & then restored my account last time. Wouldn't it be marked they already reviewed it & restored it with this same image?" Grand began his clothing line company in the spring of 2020. He is best-known for his song "All American Boy," which was released in 2013 and has received around 8 million views on YouTube.â â Tap link in bio to continue on @EDGEmedianetworkâ ????â ?: Steve Grand (@stevegrandmusic) for Grand Axis (@grandaxis)
Out recording artist Lance Bass (@lancebass), who became the father of twins last fall along with husband Michael Turchin (@michaelturchinart), disclosed the joys of parenthood, and the challenges, in a recent interview, the Daily Mail reported. Bass told PEOPLE that he's "just so obsessed" with Violet and Alexander, who were born via a surrogate last October, and added that he's now faced with being apart from them after months spent at home during COVID. "[N]ow that Dad's back working, I try to spend as much time as possible home," Bass related. "I'm so lucky, I'm able to work out of my home so I get to spend so much time with them." And when work calls him away? "It sucks to be away from them," Bass said. "I miss them." The 42-year-old *NSYNC alum added, "When you have kids, your perspective completely changes. It was all about you and now it's all about someone else." Bass said that he's gotten good advice about being a dad, People Magazine reported. "Every friend's like, 'Look, enjoy every second because it'll fly by like no other and you'll miss this stage.' I'm already getting teary-eyed because they're already 5 months [old] and I can see that it's just flying by right now." That said, Bass admitted that caring for twin babies has its challenges. However, he added, "We are so lucky that we have a lot of family members coming out because we're all from the South, so if my parents aren't here, then my sister's here, my husband's sister's here, his parents are here." â â Tap link in bio to continue on @EDGEmedianetworkâ ??ď¸â?â¤ď¸??â ?ď¸: Kilian Melloy / @dragelruairi â ?: Lance Bass @lancebass and Michael Turchin @michaelturchinart with Violet and Alexander
With a new album and film on the horizon, Harry Styles is entering a new era. Styles spoke with Capital FM's Roman Kemp for a new interview where the pop star and actor opened up about the sex scenes in his two upcoming films "My Policeman" and "Don't Worry Darling." "I don't know if you can watch either with your parents," Styles, 28, said of the movies, both set to hit theaters this fall. "I'm gonna have to do another one." Kemp followed up by asking if the movies will have any "saucy scenes" that involve Styles, to which he replied, "Yes." Asked if he will be naked, or if he wore a "netball," the musician said he "personally had no experience with a netball. It depends very much on who you're working with and what the situation is." "All I can say, from my experience, is that we were very lucky to have a trusting relationship with the people we were working with and that came first," Styles went on to say. "It was all discussed and all of it was very OK, above the filming, above the camera, it's me and you and we trust each other and at any point we can stop whenever." Based on the Bethan Roberts 2012 novel, "My Policeman" is set in the 50s in Brighton, England and follows a gay policeman named Tom (Styles) as he marries Marion (Emma Corrin), a school teacher, while he is in a relationship with a museum curator named Patrick (David Dawson). "Don't Worry Darling" is a thriller directed by Olivia Wilde, who is currently dating Styles. That film is also set in the 50s. It follows an unhappy housewife played by Florence Pugh as she discovers a dark truth about her husband, played by Styles.â â Tap link in bio to continue on @EDGEmedianetworkâ ????â ?: Harry Styles in his video "As It Was" / YouTubeâ @harrystyles
You can be whoever you want to be in New York City, and the city's newly minted Mayor Eric Adams wants LGBTQ+ youth in Florida to know that. As reported by ABC Action News, Adams announced a new digital billboard campaign condemning Florida's "Don't Say Gay" law and laws similar to its ilk in the state. The billboards are reportedly set to display in Fort Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Orlando, West Palm Beach and Tampa cities. "I am the mayor of New York City, but I have a message for Florida's LGBTQ+ community â come to a city where you can say and be whoever you want," said Mayor Adams in a statement about the digital billboard campaign. "Florida's 'Don't Say Gay' bill is the latest shameful, extremist culture war targeting the LGBTQ+ community. Today, we say to the families living in fear of this state-sponsored discrimination that you will always have a home in New York City." In a press release, the mayor's office also announced that the campaign will deliver an estimated 5 million impressions and will reaffirm Adams' "commitment and unconditional support for the LGBTQ+ community." If you're in Florida, look for the billboards from April 4 through May 29.â â Tap link in bio to continue on @EDGEmedianetworkâ ?ď¸â??????â ?ď¸: Emell D. #ICYMI :: "Drag Race" star Trinity the Tuck is out and proud as trans non-binary, reported Billboard. In a heartfelt instagram post in honor of International Transgender Day of Visibility, Tuck decided it was truth time. "I wanted to share my feelings in hopes that others who felt like me would know they aren't alone," she said. "Years ago after starting drag I seriously questioned how I identified with my gender." She continued: "That's why I altered my body starting at the age of 21 to look more feminine and also started hormone therapy for a short period. I stopped because I personally don't know that I would be comfortable living as female with the way I'd physically look. Everyone has their own journey I suppose." After much soul searching, Tuck says she has found the community. where she belongs and feels the most like herself. "I've spoke with many of my friends who are trans to get their thoughts and insight over the years," she said. "I still don't know where my journey will take me, but I am trans-NB."
