The openly gay 19-year-old entertainer called out plans by the actor and cable exec to make cable channel Great American Family a gay-free zone where it's assumed that "traditional marriage" is the only sort that matters, Entertainment Weekly reported. "[H]onestly, I can't believe after everything that went down just a few months ago, that she would not only create a movie with [the] intention of excluding LGBTQIA+ [people], but then also talk about it in the press," Siwa said in an Instagram post. "This is rude and hurtful to a whole community of people," Siwa declared. As previously reported, Bure had told the Wall Street Journal that in her capacity as chief creative officer at the cable channel she was going to avoid inclusive holiday movies of the sort that her former employer, the Hallmark Channel, has begun producing. Life slows down and traditions take centre stage when the Blomfields gather for Christmas at Tarmaroo, their family home in the Hunter Valley region of NSW. ⁠ ⁠ Along with Cracker the wallaby, donkeys Alice, Will, Hazel and Toby, and miniature schnauzer Alfie, the extended family comes together for lazy days of eating, relaxing by the pool, and sleeping under the stars. And who could forget the tree; "It's one of the things I look forward to the most. One of the reasons Netflix's megahit "Heartstopper" is captivating to audiences all over the world is because it feels like a safe space instead of a typical TV show. Whether you are younger and still not out, newly out, or have been out for years, seeing the story of Nick Nelson (Kit Conner) and Charlie Spring (Joe Locke) unfold is like receiving a big bear hug of security. You would hope that the people who brought the story to the small screen would be afforded the same blanket of protection from homophobia as their characters, but many fans weren't able to make this a reality. This has been the year of “The Bear.” Not as in a Chinese zodiac animal, but the critically acclaimed kitchen drama about a young chef who leaves the fine dining world to reluctantly run his family's sandwich shop.⁠ ⁠ In the case of Loaf Lounge, art imitates life.⁠ ⁠ Chefs Ben Lustbader and Sarah Mispagel also left fine dining restaurants to run their own sandwich shop with intention. They opened Loaf Lounge (@loaf_lounge) in the Avondale neighborhood of Chicago this summer. To further blur life and art, Mispagel worked as a pastry consultant on the show. After tiring of the tropes of city living back in 2020, full-time mum Harriet and her fiancé Brad, a beverage company owner, made the move down south, where the main source of distraction is the crashing of waves.⁠ ⁠ Purchasing an old, haphazardly renovated home the pair soon turned their attention to bringing it back to life. "My main objective was to give the house some old character and also make it functional and clean for family living," explains Harriet. "It had beautiful bones, but definitely needed some love poured into it," she says.
