When it comes to Indian TV, not many shows in our country come as close to the level of iconic as ‘CID’, which is all set to make its comeback after a hiatus of 6 years. Among all its beloved characters - from ACP Pradyuman to Daya to Fredricks - I always found Senior Inspector Abhijeet to have a different aura. His blazer was a sign of his seniority over others, and the absence of a tie denoted that he was ranked below the ACP. However, Abhijeet was not there at the start of the show! In fact, we owe our beloved Senior Inspector Abhijeet’s character (played by Aditya Srivastava) to the making of one of the most iconic movies of Indian Cinema – ‘Lagaan’. Isn’t it a general human tendency to feel that nothing wrong is ever going to happen to us? Nobody thinks they'd become a victim of a scam or a fraud over a call. These scenarios make for a good Netflix show plot, but in real life, nah! Especially not for our generation, who has grown up on these cautionary tales through shows, movies, newspaper articles, and more recently, countless reels.
