The January issue of Country Style is on sale today!â â â Weâre still in holiday mode, and so is gorgeous groodle Aggie, whoâs relaxing on the private jetty at Rachel Wallerâs stunning lakeside cottage on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland. The charming pink home of @inhersixties is surrounded by birdsong, abundant wildlife and lush greenery â and makes a marvellous spot for an afternoon beside the water.â â Step inside the colourful world of @emilyimeson, a NSW Northern Rivers artist who works in collaboration with nature itself. Plant dyes, earth and rainwater all play their part in her magical creations.â â Escape to the coastal paradise of Queenslandâs Keppel Sands. The owners of @palm_house_keppel_sands bought a knockdown shack, and discovered an original timber-workerâs cottage under the fibro, which they lovingly restored and extended. Now itâs a subtropical oasis of cool white and ocean treasures.â â Travel to Tasmania, to a farm where peonies grow. @westonfarm is an abundant garden brimming with blousy peonies, olives, vegies and honey â and you neednât visit the farm to get it. The owners, Richard and Belinda Weston, supply their produce to the cafĂŠ they own in Hobart, @pigeonholecafewesthobart.â â Armed with a love of flowers and determination to do business differently, Madeleine Lee created @oakmeadowclothing in her hometown of Byron Bay â and like the handpainted florals that decorate its pretty dresses, itâs blooming.â â And we follow Jodi Wilson on her inspiring journey round Australia with her young family, all documented @practisingsimplicity and in her new book.â â Photography @hannahpuechmarin â Styling @albertandgraceâ â #magazinelovers
'Minnaruh', a 1920s era cottage hidden by trees and shrubs was once owned by an opera singer and was a smart setting for dinner parties during the 1930s and '40s. â â Today, it's perhaps best known for its lush garden, lovingly tended by owners, John and Jenny Shaw. "It's not a show garden and we just accept the seasonal nature of it ... In summer it's cool and green - you drive into a shady oasis," says John.â â Pictured here are rhododendrons that are anywhere from 30 to 60 years old. â â Tap the link in our profile to wander through the garden.â â Photography: @marniehawsonâ Words: Christine Reidâ â #rhododendrons #cottagegarden #pinkflowers #flowergarden #landscaping
When Dee Nolan's parents retired and sold her childhood home Gum Park, she vowed to buy it back one day. Then, years later, as fate would have it, it came up for sale. â â Soon after, she and her husband John began restoring the property, starting with the shearers' quarters and a tin hut that was Dee's grandfather's first home. â â "This is home," says Dee. â â Tap the link in our profile to take a tour.â â Photography: @markroperphotographyâ Styling: @tess.newman.morrisâ â #verandah #countryhome #farmhouse #homerestoration #classicfarmhouse
"I'm hardwired to tread lightly, and prefer to work with those who share an ethical and sustainable mindset," says photographer Marnie Hawson whose home in central Victoria is decorated with mostly vintage or recycled pieces from garage sales, markets and op shops.â â Outside, Marnie created a lush, productive kitchen garden with help from her cousin, permaculturalist Ben Shaw.â â Tap the link in our profile to tour her home and garden.â â Photography: @marniehawsonâ Styling: @lynda.gardener + @bellebrightprojectâ Words: @virginia_imhoffâ â #kitchengarden #permaculture #cottagegarden #productivegarden #vegetablegarden
Four years ago, Maryann and Brian Walker had been toying with the idea of a sea change when an old miner's cottage, just minutes from the beach, challenged them to take it on. â â After extensive renovations, they named the cottage Flora House, after Brian's grandmother "who lived family and a warm house filled with laughter." â â Tap the link in our profile to step inside. â â Photography: @brigidarnottphotographyâ Styling: Jodie Gibbons @belljarinteriorsâ Words: @justicelynâ â #frangipanitree #coastalcottage #cottagerenovation #recycledbrick #coastalgarden
At Christmas time, Brooke and Colin Munro decorate their storybook pretty home with handmade creations woven from raffia. Here, Peggy the cattle dog watches intently as Brooke works her weaving magic. â â Before renovations, however, their 1970s farmhouse was in a state of disrepair. But the pair channelled their efforts into rebuilding the floors, ceiling, roof and re-cladding upstairs and downstairs. â â Tap the link in our profile to see what the home looks like today. â â Photography: @brigidarnottphotographyâ Styling: Hannah Bradyâ Words: @alexspeedjournalistâ â #whitekitchen #christmasdecorating #concretebench #farmhousekitchen #renovationâ
"My favourite part of Christmas is at the end of dessert, when I know everyone has a full tummy and a glass in their hand, and we're all laughing and relaxed," says One Fat Emu founder, Kate Brew. â â Each year, she and her family gather at their property Nether Hill Farm to celebrate, bake desserts and create decorations from branches and flowers from the garden. â â Here, Millie the golden retriever lazes under the Christmas stockings with chooks Clucky and Brownie.â â Tap the link in our profile to tour the home.â â Photography: @markroperphotographyâ Styling: @lee_blaylockâ Words: @virginia_imhoffâ â #christmasdecorating #christmasstockings #farmhousechristmas #farmhousestyle #rusticstyle

Lillie Holcombe never thought she'd end up living in the country. But in a happy coincidence, she met her future husband Henry, when her sister married a man from Goondiwindi - and now, both couples live on neighbouring properties near Yetman, NSW. â â Lillie and Henry recently renovated their 1912-era farmhouse, giving it a "country eclectic" makeover. â â Tap the link in our profile to take a tour.â â Photography: @hannahpuechmarinâ Styling: Cheryl Carr @albertandgraceâ Words: @clairemactaggartâ â #climbingplants #countryhome #verandah #farmhouse #farmhouserenovation #renovation
At Willow Farm Homestead, the French-provincial style kitchen is an entertainerâs dream. The wall shelves were an upcycled find, and the freestanding island (where plenty of family treats have been baked over the years) is topped with dreamy marble. â â The home, which dates back to 1920, was extensively renovated in 2006 and today forms part of the Willow Farm estate, a popular destination for weddings, events and yoga and wellness retreats. â â Tap the link in our bio to explore 30 inviting country kitchens.â â Photography: @brigidarnottphotographyâ Styling: @miss_ness_tayâ â #countrykitchen #classickitchen #marblekitchen #frenchprovincialstyle #frenchprovincialkitchen
It might not look like it, but the newest thing in antique dealer Athol Salter's house may be the house itself. Built in the 80s, Athol says he wouldn't have looked twice at the "sandstock-y, bricky-looking thing" if his daughter didn't live right next door! â â Over the course of a year he renewed the roof, reclad the exterior and reworked the floor plan to create a home with soul and plenty of style. â â Tap the link in our profile to step inside.â â Photography: @abbie_melleâ Words: @hannahjameswords
Peek over the fence of Norwood Roses in Toowoomba and you'll see the handiwork of owner Caitlyn Mason and her partner, Sam Clothier. â â There are flower bombs of sweet hues and sugar puffs of fragrant blooms. â â "My vision was to grow flowers that I could cut and give as gifts or thank yous," says Caitlyn, who is often joined in the garden by dachshund, Gertrude.â â Tap the link in our profile to wander through the garden.â â Photography: @hannahpuechmarinâ Words: @jessicabellefâ â #flowergarden #cottagegarden #cottagegardenflowers #rosegardens
