Britney Spears paid tribute to her BF Sam Asghari on Instagram with a sweet message that thanked him for his support during this difficult period in her life. The couple have been dating since 2016. "Not only has this cute asshole been with me through the hardest years of my life but he happens to be an extremely good cook," Spears wrote, alongside an emoji of a chef. She added: "Fast & Furious franchise, don't miss out on your next star," hinting to Hollywood to cast her partner in film roles. Asghari was in on the joke, responding in the comments with a cry-laughing emoji: "Yes ... F that asshole." For his part, Billboard reports, the actor/model/personal trainer "has been one of Spears' biggest champions as she fights to end the conservatorship that has controlled her finances and personal life for the last 13 years. Prior to the June hearing where Spears addressed the court in her conservatorship case for the first time, Asghari wore a "Free Britney" T-shirt and posted a lion emoji on his Instagram Story. "I have always wanted nothing but the best for my better half, and will continue to support her following her dreams and creating the future she wants and deserves," he told People magazine earlier this year. ???? From graffiti to high art, murals are some of the country's most glorious sights. Often, they reflect and honor local communities, with ever-more LGBTQ artists expressing themselves through colorful murals in cities from coast to coast. There is a risk behind mural art, however. As part of urban streetscapes, murals often are impermanent and subject to every building's and neighborhood's evolution. Even when commissioned, a mural can be lost all too easily โ€” as was the case recently in Philadelphia, when a mural of the late LGBTQ community activist Gloria Casarez on South 12th Street was abruptly whitewashed by a real-estate developer. Fortunately, art endures. And for every lost masterpiece, more will manifest from the brushes and spray-paint cans of countless irrepressible artists. Here's a look at our favorite murals by LGBTQ artists in cities across America. Tap link in bio to continue on @EDGEmedianetwork ??๏ธโ€??๏ธ (?๏ธ: Kelsy Chauvin / @kelsycc / ?: Matthew Wexler)

Like many industries, tattoo culture is finally moving beyond a stereotypical white cisgender heteronormative perspective. Television studios have been capitalized on ink-obsessed viewers for years with shows like "Ink Master," "Tattoo Rescue," "Just Tattoo of Us," and dozens more. But a new feature in Vogue suggests that a new generation of LGBTQ tattoo artists and customers are shifting the paradigm. "I feel like a lot of cis men don't want to be told, 'Oh, you need to be gentler; you need to be more thoughtful and caring about how you interact,' especially when it comes to tattooing. It's such a weird masculine thing to associate pain with tattooing right off the bat," says Ink of the Diaspora founder Tann Parker in Vogue's feature. An international culture has emerged that embraces LGBTQ identities in the tattoo parlors and the type of body art that's being created. Tap link in bio to continue on @EDGEmedianetwork ?๏ธโ€????? With the recent release of "Respect," the hotly anticipated, long in-the-works biopic about Aretha Franklin, Jennifer Hudson โ€” already an Oscar winner for "Dreamgirls" โ€” is again on the receiving end of a whole lot of early Oscar buzz. But the film itself isn't quite garnering the same acclaim, with most critics writing that "Respect" falls into the same kinds of standard musical biopic traps that have always plagued the genre: Overly formulaic cliches that don't do justice to their subject matter. Electric performances in films like these have transcended their respective films before, in things like "Bohemian Rhapsody," "Ray," and, most recently, "The United States vs. Billie Holliday," so there is still a chance that Hudson's career-best performance could earn her a second Oscar nomination next year. However, not all musical biopics are substandard fare. Here are five films about real-life musicians that transcend the limitations of the genre and have kept the bar exceptionally high. The freshest style in decor these days is ... mixing styles. Traditional and contemporary often work well together. Think abstract art with an overstuffed chaise, or an 18th century-style toile wallpaper with an '80s-era lamp. The appeal is in the pleasing tension between the styles; sophisticated, artsy, yet livable. The latest throwback trend comes, as usual, from pop culture. Binge-worthy TV series like "Outlander" and "Bridgerton" have inspired Pinterest boards filled with tartan pillows, William Morris patterns, stag antler lighting, copper soaking tubs, silver candlesticks and daybeds. Wave a feathered fan at "Regencycore." What "Mad Men" did for midcentury modern, these recent period series have done for early 19th century aesthetics, characterized by elements like tufted sofas, oversize mirrors, chandeliers, gilded accents, and colorful floral or Oriental prints. The fourth time's the charm for this "Candyman." Nia DaCosta has crafted a beautiful-looking horror film that has a lot more going for it than supernatural slashers usually have. Fans will be invested, but we suggest a review of the 1992 classic just so you can enjoy all the nuance put into this well-made reboot. Disturbing, fun, and intriguing, definitely take this "Candyman's" treat, but please don't say his name five times... Tap link in bio to read more of EDGE's review on @EDGEmedianetwork ??๏ธ? Chef Josie Smith-Malave has done it all. A classically trained chef, she's traveled the world, appeared on the hit TV series "Top Chef," and worked in the best kitchens across the country from New York City to San Francisco. She now calls Fort Lauderdale home and is the chef-owner of Bubbles & Pearls, an intimate dining spot and raw bar in LGBTQ+-friendly Wilton Manors. Smith-Malave's dynamic career, which has also included a stint playing for the New York Sharks of the Independent Women's Football League, was put in jeopardy after she contracted COVID-19 early in the pandemic. Ever resilient, she's relied on her sobriety to get through tough times, both personally and professionally. Smith-Malave will share plenty of ideas for creating joyful, sober dining experiences at home, along with her approach to managing life's challenges through healthy living and eating. Recovery Unplugged's Vice President of Business Development Joseph Gorordo will join in the conversation, offering insights about the critical need for LGBTQ+ inclusivity and proper training in the drug and alcohol treatment industry and how Recovery Unplugged harnesses the power of music in its treatment programs. Don't miss this intimate live interview with one of the country's leading #LGBTQ+ chefs and a closer look at Recovery Unplugged's groundbreaking work in addiction treatment on Tuesday, August 31, 1 p.m. ET on EDGE's Facebook! Pop star JoJo Siwa will compete as part of the first same-sex pairing on "Dancing With the Stars" for the show's upcoming 30th season. Siwa, an 18-year-old who has said she identifies as gay and queer, said the same-sex pairing signals to viewers that it's OK to be your true self. She named Lindsay Arnold, Jenna Johnson and Britt Stewart as among the show's regular pros she'd like to be paired with. "I think it breaks a wall that's never been broken down before," she told an online gathering of the Television Critics Association. "It's normal for a girl to dance with a guy, and I think that's really cool, but it's really special that now not only do I get to share with the world that you get to love who you love, but also you get to dance with who you want to dance with." Siwa noted that among the things to be worked out with her partner are who leads, how do they dress and what shoes do they wear. "It's going to give so much to people out there, people of the LGBTQ community, everyone, people who feel just a little different," she said. "I want to make it OK for the people who come after me." "It's normal for a girl to dance with a guy, and I think that's really cool, but it's really special that now not only do I get to share with the world that you get to love who you love, but also you get to dance with who you want to dance with." Siwa noted that among the things to be worked out with her partner are who leads, how do they dress and what shoes do they wear. "It's going to give so much to people out there, people of the LGBTQ community, everyone, people who feel just a little different," she said. "I want to make it OK for the people who come after me." How about a little madness and mayhem? If it is with Sandra Bernhard, then emphatically yes, especially if she's going to be performing it in person for the first time in more than a year and a half. Bernhard is bringing her latest show, "Madness and Mayhem," to City Winery venues in the Northeast beginning on August 29 in Hudson Valley, NY, followed on August 30 at City Winery at Hudson River Park. On September 1 she heads to City Winery, then on September 2 to City Winery in Boston, MA. She heads out west for October dates in Arizona and California. Not that Bernhard has been hibernating during the pandemic. She continued hosting "Sandyland," her hit Sirius radio show, from her New York home during the pandemic. And a year ago she was part of the cast of "Pose" when it filmed its final season under strict pandemic rules in New York City. Bernhard spoke to EDGE recently about returning to the stage, the importance of "Pose," and what she thinks of those who don't get vaccinated. An adult entertainment industry monitoring organization is calling for a halt in production. PASS (Performer Availability Screening Services) has reported that a performer has tested positive for HIV, reported Str8UpNews.com. "Many adult film production houses in the USA, particularly those specializing in 'bareback' or condomless porn, use HIV testing as their primary means of preventing HIV among performers. "Currently, performers are required to have frequent HIV tests, with their data stored on a third-party database to protect their privacy. The production house consults the database, and is notified if an actor is cleared to work," wrote the website Avert, which supplies information about HIV and AIDS, in 2016. In the tweet they wrote, "In an abundance of caution we are calling for a precautionary production hold after learning that a performer, who had not tested with for several months, tested positive for HIV. "At this time there does not appear to be a threat to the performer pool." It also included a statement from Michelle LeBlanc, the board President: "This morning PASS was alerted that a performer, who had not tested with PASS in several months, had tested positive for HIV. Any performer who has had contact with them is being contacted and retested." "We have been advised by the PASS testing facility that there does not appear to be a threat to the performer pool. However, in an abundance of caution, we are calling for precautionary production hold. We expet to have full results of all tests by Tuesday, and will make a decision to lift the hold as soon as those results are back." Tap link in bio to continue on @EDGEmedianetwork ??? Nico Tortorella once said they have "too many [tattoos] to count," but their latest ink is hard to ignore. The 33-year-old "Younger" star revealed a new tattoo this past weekend โ€” a graphic, ink design that stretches from neck to heel, reports People magazine. "Younger" recently completed its final season on Paramount+ and coincidently, Tortorella played a tattoo artist on the show. They revealed the tat on their Instagram Stories Friday, complete with a pic of their backside showing the entire tattoo, which begins at their neck, runs down the middle of the back and then moving to their right side shadowing their buttocks before running down their right leg to their heel. "Inspired by the one and only @bethanycmeyers," Tortorella wrote under their video, tagging their spouse, who has a similar line tattoo. Tortorella called himself "sexually fluid," identifying as bisexual in 2016. They married Meyers in 2018. Along with the full-body footage of their tattoo, Tortorella also included a photo of their new ink, writing, "We love a freehand outline" and tagging tattoo artist @fcknrx, who shared their own photos of the star's new body art on Instagram. Tortorella talked about the tattoo with People. "If I wasn't a full-time actor, I think I would be fully covered. I get tattoos all the time. My agents want to die. They gave up hassling me a long time ago," the actor said. "The art of tattoos, historically, is one of the most sacred practices. I'm really strongly connected to the ancient practices of tattoo work โ€” not just, 'Oh, it's cool to get tattoos now.'" ???? "Euphoria" hunk Jacob Elordi visited "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" this week where he talked about the HBO show's upcoming second season, which included describing the "penis checks" on the set, reports Bustle. They came about because of a number of prosthetic penises used for shower scenes in the series that is currently filming its second season, delayed by the pandemic. "When you come into the makeup trailer, they're all kind of set up," Elordi said, adding that the show's makeup artists have to apply "makeup on the penis" and routinely hold so-called "penis checks" between takes to make sure the "makeup stays on and looks as lifelike as possible." Elordi also told guest host Julie Bowen how he grew a mullet, only to have his girlfriend Kaia Gerber chop it off after just a week. "I had always wanted a mullet and my mum never let me have one cause she wanted me to be a gentleman," he explained. His opportunity came with the pandemic lockdown. "But he admitted that his experience as a mullet man was short-lived. 'My girlfriend [Kaia Gerber], within a week of us dating, she cut it off,' he said. 'She took me to the bathroom and she got scissors out.' "You're cute, but not that cute," he said Gerber told him, which Bowen repeated.Elordi also discussed how the show, which enters its second season after a pandemic delay, will shake things up. "It's insane, but it's like a completely different show," he said. He also said that his character Nate will not be clothed as much in Season 2, which touched upon an issue that bothered Elordi: objectification, either from "Euphoria" or "The Kissing Booth" franchise. "I have always found it important to be able to look out from the bedroom, through the bullnose verandah, and see a different aspect of the garden," says Margot Shannon, founder of Merchant Campbell in Yass, NSW. โ

While the garden is impressive in itself, her home, a fourth-generation farmhouse dating back to the 1870s, is styled with one-of-a-kind pieces sourced on her travels around the globe. โ

Washington, DC steals the hearts of an estimated 24.6 million visitors per year as one of the most LGBTQ+-friendly cities in America. With waterfront views, countless outdoor parks, dining districts, and colorful cultural experiences, there is no shortage of places for queer travelers to eat, play, and love. But to capture the magic of DC's LGBTQ+ pride is to tell the stories of the District's diverse communities. Whether traveling alone, on business, or planning a group getaway, visitors to DC will quickly find that the District is "available" to everyone, says Michael Parra, a longtime resident. As a Latino cisgender male and young professional, Parra says he found comfort in DC being a "very diverse place." "Available because you can find a sense of community in DC. The fun is in finding clubs and events that cater to your specific tastes," says Parra, who was born and raised in northern Virginia. "DC was always in my backyard as a child until adulthood. My first thought that comes to mind about DC is how career-driven people are there. A lot of conversations with people have weight and are of substance compared to other areas in the U.S." When it comes to things to do, there are tastes for every tribe, and the District's offerings can fill a multi-day itinerary from dawn 'til dusk. By day, DC's numerous monuments and memorials offer insights into our country's complex legacy, with nearby restaurants adding a taste of local culture. By night, the District's most notable sights, like the Lincoln Memorial, offer powerful moments to connect with travel companions and locals alike. Arnold Schwarzenegger's son Joseph Baena, showed that he's looking more and more like his famous bodybuilder dad with his latest thirst-trap. Baena spent time at the pool of his alma mater, Pepperdine University, where he did a few laps in the rainy Malibu weather while wearing a black speedo, reported the Daily Mail. He wrote in his post: "Rainy days in LA are surprisingly refreshing. Started the day off with a swim and now heading to my next listing appointment. Hope every has a great hump day!!!" Earlier this month he posted a pic of himself with his dad that showed their strong resemblance. "Happy Birthday Dad! I hope your pump was juicy and may your day be filled with lots of schnitzel, schnapps and stogies!!!," he wrote in the post. Father and son have worked out together over the past year, which Baena has chronicled on IG. "This selfie was taken moments before my dad suggested I do "forced reps" for the rest of the workout. You have to go all out and absolutely NO cheating when you train with him, so you know I'm going to be hurting tomorrow," he wrote. Tap link in bio to continue on @EDGEmedianetwork ???? Nolan Gould grew up before America's eyes playing Luke Dunphy on "Modern Family" for eleven years. But today he's a hunky, 22-year-old who, the New York Post reports, "shocked fans with a raunchy pole dancing video proving he is no child actor anymore." "Tragic Mike," he jokes in his post. "Might delete this immediately but had to share the results of my first pole dancing class. Always wanted to try it. Thanks @alyssadventures for an amazing class and my supportive friends for helping make it happen. I am uncoordinated and inflexible as hell. My body is basically made of Lego bricks." If his body is made of Lego bricks, it is certainly a well-constructed one. Over the pandemic Gould has worked with a personal trainer and changed to a healthier diet. "I've been working out an hour and a half everyday with my friend Michael who is a personal trainer," he told People magazine last February. "We have a really cool socially-distant setup that has allowed me to get fit while also being safe. It's been nice. Especially being unemployed in quarantine, having a reason to get up and stay motivated. It's been something that's been very healthy and positive for me in quarantine. It's really changed my outlook." He also told People he's been on a "pretty crazy diet," which consists of lots of lean protein and vegetables, and no more "teenage boy/bachelor"-type meal plans where you skip meals and then end up eating "four pizzas at once." He continued: "I'm eating so much healthier, even though there's less of it," he says. "What I get is actually really healthy food for you: lean protein, eating as many vegetables as you want and staying away from things like soda." Tap link in bio to continue on @EDGEmedianetwork ???? Most of us know Andrew Levitt as drag queen Nina West, who's been named "the most googled drag queen in the world" with more than 7.8 billion unique searches. But that's just the beginning as Levitt gives West a rest for a few months and prepares to traverse the country in a highly-anticipated revival of the Tony Award-winning musical, "Hairspray." Levitt joined EDGE editor Matthew Wexler for an intimate conversation about his drag career and what led to the defining moment when Broadway icon Jerry Mitchell called to offer him the role. Originally slated to begin pre-pandemic, the tour is finally scheduled to hit the road, kicking off in Yakima, Washington, and playing cities across the country. Levitt also discusses his early exposure to the arts, love for musical theater, drag mother Virginia West, and the importance of his philanthropic work with The Nina West Foundation, which has raised more than $4 million for charitable causes. Levitt proves that kindness is queen! Tap link in bio to watch the interview on @EDGEmedianetwork ?๏ธโ€??? "Parenthood" and "Good Girls" alum and current co-star of Disney's fantasy series "The Owl House" Mae Whitman came out as pansexual in a social media post in which she declared herself "proud" to be the voice of "Owl House" lesbian character Amity Blight. "Being pansexual myself, I wish I had such incredible characters like Amity and Luz in my life when I was growing up," Whitman, 33, said in an Aug. 16 tweet, Us magazine reported. Luz, the show's hero (voiced by Sarah-Nicole Robles), is an ordinary human girl who accidentally ends up in a magical land. She begins attending a school for witches where she meets a number of new friends, including Amity. Luz herself is depicted as being bisexual โ€” a first for a Disney cartoon, and still a rarity for the company's entertainment offerings overall. Amity, likewise, is the "first major animated Disney character to be a confirmed lesbian," Wikipedia notes. "Queer representation is sososo important," Whitman's tweet added. Out bisexual Irish Olympian Jack Woolley "was left drenched in blood and will require facial reconstructive surgery after a dozen people battered him in Dublin, Ireland," writes Pink News. "Irish Olympic hero Jack Woolley has shared a series of disturbing videos and pictures of the aftermath of a horrific attack he endured in Dublin last night," reports the Irish newspaper reported the Independent in an Aug. 14 article. "The Dubliner, who touched the heart of the nation when he broke down in tears during a TV interview following his Tokyo 2021 elimination, uploaded the pictures from St James's Hospital, where he was treated for his wounds." The 22-year-old shared photographs from inside an ambulance and a hospital bed, showing blood-soaked clothing and lacerations across his face. Woolley was Ireland's first Olympic representative in taekwondo. He was eliminated in the first round of the 58kg division at the Olympic Games last month. Woolley was walking along the boardwalk by the River Liffey after dinner with friends on Friday night, August 14, when "out of the blue" he was attacked. "Heading back along the River Liffey a gang of roughy 8-12 men and women in their 20s began violently attacking people along the boardwalk," he explained. Model Marvin Cortes came out as bisexual on Instagram and launches an OnlyFans page. Cortes was the runner-up on the 20th season of Tyra Banks' modeling competition "America's Next Top Model" that ran on the CW in 2013. He has since been seen in numerous fashion magazines, done photo shoots for such brands as Hugo Boss, Givenchy, Coca-Cola, Sears, and Samsung and developed his own male beauty line, according to a press release. On Aug. 1, he posted a tweet that said, "Being my authentic self. Proud to be a part of the LGBT community." It had a link to his Instagram page that had an 11-minute video. "I want to let you know that I'm coming out as openly bisexual. I've been in love with both men and women," Cortes said in a heartfelt, 11-minute coming-out video he posted to Instagram TV in early August. "I've been proud to be a part of the gay community in my personal life, and I just want to share it now publicly online." He continued: "I've never been happier, and I look forward to living more of an authentic life and sharing that with you. In a press release, he reflected on how his experience on "ANTM" informed his life. "I learned that a strong work ethic is the only thing that will ensure you to succeed in life, I saw how hard Tyra (Banks) and her producers worked, the attention to detail they paid in every big and little issue they encountered. The show taught me to approach my projects in a similar manner." ???? (?: Marvin Cortes / Instagram / @marvincortes1)

An iconic LGBTQ fantasy series is getting the small-screen treatment. Deadline confirmed Tuesday that Ted Field's Radar Pictures (Jumanji) recently scooped up the television rights to Mercedes Lackey's Valdemar novels. The series, which has run for more than 30 years across nearly 60 novels, is famous for its revolutionary and unflinching depiction of LGBTQ+ characters in the world of literature," writes writes SyFy Wire. The first season will be adapted from the "Last Herald-Mage" trilogy, comprising of "Magic's Pawn," which was first published in 1989, "Magic's Price' and "Magic's Promise." "The company, founded by Interscope Records co-founder Ted Field, who is an exec producer on Amazon's 'The Wheel of Time' series, has acquired the small screen rights to the books, which number 58 over more than 30 years," wrote Deadline. Kit Williamson, who created Netflix's LGBTQ comedy series "EastSiders," is adapting with author Brittany Cavallaro, who wrote the "Charlotte Holmes" series of books. The pair bonded over the books in school and will now write and produce the TV adaptation. "I have hoped for decades that 'The Last Herald-Mage' would be adapted for television," Lackey said in a statement to Deadline. "Now that Radar has optioned the trilogy, I am nearly breathless with excitement. I could not have chosen a better organization to take my work in hand, and Kit and Bri, the producers, absolutely know both their stuff and the material. I love the fact that this is going to be a long-form series: episodic TV gives the story all the room it needs. I hope our fans will be as thrilled to see their favorite characters come to life as I am." Tap link in bio to continue on @EDGEmedianetwork ???? (?: Kit Williamson / Instagram)

Three men have been charged with hate crimes after being accused of using a paintball gun to shoot at a transgender woman in Puerto Rico who was later found dead, federal authorities said Friday. The U.S. Justice Department said the men recognized the victim from social media posts that identified her as a man who allegedly entered a women's bathroom at a restaurant in February 2020. Police have identified her as Alexa Negrรณn Luciano. Authorities said the men verbally harassed her and later drove to get a paintball gun and paintballs that they fired at her. The federal charges are the first ones filed in the case, with two of the suspects also facing obstruction of justice charges. "At last, justice is starting to be served for Alexa," said the Broad Committee for the Pursuit of Equity, a local human rights group. "The assassins killed Alexa, but a lot of people contributed by pointing her out, persecuting her and executing her." No one has been charged in the killing of Negrรณn, whose body was found in the northern town of Toa Baja. She was one of six transgender people killed in the U.S. territory last year. Out boxer Nesthy Petecio of the Philippines is a winner and a proud member of the LGBTQ community. This week, the women's featherweight boxer won a silver Olympic medal and tearfully chose to share the moment with her community, as reported by NBC News. "This win is for the LGBTQ community. Let's go, fight!" she said, according to a translation from ESPN, NBC reports. Petecio is reportedly the first woman from the Philippines to win a boxing medal and the first Filipino boxer to win a medal at the Olympics in nearly 25 years. Petecio's teammate and fellow out boxer Irish Magno became the first Filipino women to compete in boxing at the Olympics, and Magno was the first Filipino woman to qualify for the Games, according to Quartz. "Boxing is one of the most popular sports in the Philippines alongside basketball, The Los Angeles Times reported. Half of the 12 Olympic medals the country has ever won have come in boxing, and it's expected to win two more in boxing before the Tokyo Games end," NBC reports. Petecio says that fellow Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao has been her greatest inspiration. "I compare my life to his," she said, according to a translation from the Olympic Channel. "We both came from hardships, we both started from nothing. We couldn't eat without debt." She continued, "He really is my idol. Tap link in bio to continue on @EDGEmedianetwork ????๏ธโ€? After a highly competitive bidding war, Amazon Studios has landed the next great comedic creation from Billy Eichner in the form of the film, "Ex-Husbands." As reported by Deadline, Eichner wrote the film with Paul Rudnick and will also reportedly star in what is described as a "gay divorce comedy." "The concept of a big, gay divorce comedy has been kicking around in my head for years and I cannot think of better collaborators than groundbreaking producers Greg and Sarah, and a true icon whose work I have craved and admired since I was a young gay boy lusting after show business, the brilliant Paul Rudnick who really paved the way for me and many others," Deadline reports Eichner said about the news that Amazon is picking up the film for development. "And we now have the perfect partners in Amazon, who have already shown enormous passion for this project. This is a dream team. Now, LET'S GET DIVORCED!!!" Matching Eichner's enthusiasm, Rudnick shared: "As a longtime fan of Billy Eichner, I was thrilled when he called me about this project. And when Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schecter became involved, I knew we were in the best possible hands. Ex-Husbands has the potential to be wildly funny, emotional and altogether delightful." "Ex-Husbands" will reportedly center on characters Daniel and Connor, a gay couple once madly in love, and on of the first to be legally married, who must now contend with an epic divorce.
