With his sleek cheekbones, dimples, and All American looks, actor David Corenswet looks camera-ready to play Superman. For now you can catch the lanky (6'4"), 29-year old in last year's hugely underrated horror film, "Pearl," Ti West's Technicolored study of a young woman (an Oscar-worthy Mia Goth) descent into madness in rural Texas in 1918. In the film, the title character dreams of Hollywood stardom, fueled by her visits to a local movie theater where she is befriended by its projectionist (Corenswet). He seduces Pearl one night by showing her WWI-era stag films, which shades his character as a bad boy; but he proves no match for the truly mad Pearl. Talking to Yahoo! News about his role, called the Projectionist in the film's credits, the Juilliard graduate says: "When Ti pitched to me what he envisioned for the film, it was all about visual aesthetic and cinematic references, and this core idea of... doing a horror film, telling a tragedy in the shell of a movie musical... and I love that idea." Added Corenswet: "It immediately resonated with me and struck me as a great film that I would want to see." The musical movie reference may seem strange for a slasher film, but in the film's vibrant cinematography and Panavision look, it could easily be mistaken for a Vincente Minnelli film. When, for instance, Pearl auditions for a church holiday show as a dancer, it becomes a full-scaled musical number right out of the 1950s. It is moments like this, Corenswet feels, that allowed West to go to "extremes" he wanted to. "I think it's giving Ti permission to use the extremes when it comes to images and sounds, and music, the elements that make up the film that evoke the emotions from the audience," he said. Dismissing the theatrical nature of the anti-drag bills and the inflammatory rhetoric around them, RuPaul called on his audience to "get the stunt queens out of office," Variety reported. They pull in shows from their foreign affiliates to fill out their catalog, adding more fodder to an already full list. That's good news for reality show fans. It's not easy being as hot as a Norse god, and Chris Hemsworth is living proof of that as his stuntman gives fans a glimpse inside the diet he maintained to stay in shape for the "Thor" films. As reported by the Daily Mail, Hemsworth was not skimping on the calories to achieve his Thor physique. In fact, he reportedly consumed "10 meals a day" totaling 4,000 calories and his longtime stunt double Bobby Holland Hanton had to follow suit to keep up, he detailed in a recent interview with Ice36. "You've got to be kidding!" was Hanton's first response when Hemsworth gave him just eight weeks to bulk up to his size for "Thor: Blood and Thunder." Hanton reportedly had to pack on nearly 22 pounds of muscle to be a convincing stand-in. "I was eating up to 10 meals a day, two of those would be protein shakes," Hanton shared. "We [he and Chris] were training twice a day and I never thought in my life that I would be sick of food and not wanting to eat food, because I love food." Although he "hated it," Hanton said, you can't argue with results. "In the end, I was trying to give away food that I was supposed to eat because I just didn't want to eat it, it would almost make you feel sick because you were never, ever hungry," Hanton said. In 2020, Hanton revealed on an Australian radio show that he has "a great relationship" and "understanding" with Hemsworth. "The actors I work with work really hard, especially Chris," Hanton said at the time. Women are always associated to be someone’s wife, sister, or mother. To be honest, this sucks. What’s even sadder is how society has always pitted women against each other. On this Women’s Day, we thought of challenging this archaic idea. We talked to women and asked them to tell us about any incident where a woman stood up for them and fought for and with them. A lot of us have different ideas about what the ‘X’ symbol means. The Railway Ministry took to Twitter to explain the logic behind the symbol and people finally got their answer.
