The Sun is reporting that a British teenage footballer is about to come out as gay. He has been given the full backing of teammates and officials at his Championship club. "Sources say he is 'very relaxed' about his sexuality and the announcement he plans to make in a TV interview — and is keen to 'break the stigma' over the issue." They added: "The player told club officials and his manager about this a few weeks ago and his family already knew. "The club made it very clear it was his decision and they would back what he wanted to do. He told his teammates, some as recently as Friday, and they offered him their backing too." A source adds: "They are all more interested in how he plays and trains. He is a highly valued member of the team." Amal Fashanu, who runs the Justin Fashanu Foundation to fight homophobia and racism in football, told the Sun: 'This is very encouraging news and shows the positive steps that have been taken in society and in football. While star @realjeansmart's character, stand-up legend Deborah Vance, is straight and divorced, virtually everyone in her orbit is gay. Deborah's writing assistant Ava Daniels, played by @hannaheinbinder, is bisexual; Marcus (@carlclemonshopkins), Deborah's advisor, is gay, and is in a relationship with Wilson, a water maintenance man, played by @johnnysibilly. Plus there's Damien (@markindelicato), Deborah's gay personal assistant, and queer actors @poppyrepublic and Megan Stalter in the cast. No wonder the show has been labeled Jean Smart and her queer family. The show has helped increase the visibility of Sibilly, whose character hit it off with Marcus and began an odd couple relationship that continues in Season Two, which began this week on HBO Max. After the show began to air, he was cast in the reboot of "Queer as Folk," adding another queer character to his resume. If Sibilly has his way, he will only play queer characters moving forward. "For me, I always say if I never played a straight character ever again, I would be perfectly fine with that — just because there's so many queer stories that haven't been told that I am dying to tell. It would be an honor to only play queer characters forever," he said in an interview with Out Magazine. By this, Silbilly just doesn't mean a queer appearance. @billyeichner's LGBTQ+ actor packed rom-com, "Bros," is on the horizon, and he recently sat down to answer a few burning questions from Collider. Produced by @universalpictures, a preview of the film made its debut at this year's CinemaCon. Eichner co-wrote the film with director @nicholasstoller, and it is the first rom-com about gay men produced by a major studio. In his Collider interview, Eichner went into his main missions for the film, including portraying showing gay sex on film. "It was important to me. It's a part of life, you know?" said Eichner. "For straight people, for gay people, for bi people, for everyone. And we're making a romantic comedy. Sex is romantic and it's also really funny. We take sex very seriously. But sex can be really funny. And how can you do a story about two people falling for each other and not deal with sex?" The first trailer has dropped for @thecw's "Nancy Drew" spinoff series "Tom Swift," featuring a gay, Black version of the iconic adventure hero, Entertainment Weekly reported. "@tianrichards already made his debut as Tom Swift on one of the best episodes of 'Nancy Drew' yet, but get ready to see him in a whole new light on his own show," EW said. As previously reported at EDGE, being gay was a prominent part of the character's depiction when he made a guest appearance on "Nancy Drew." Sparks flew between Tom Swift and "Nancy Drew" regular character Nick (Tunji Kasim), leading to an onscreen kiss. But, the EW report added, "There's so much more to him than what was in last year's backdoor pilot that aired as a season 2 episode of 'Nancy Drew,' and Tom absolutely sizzles onscreen." This week, @lmorganlee made @theTonyawards history as the first trans actress to be nominated for the award. She received the nod for Best Supporting Actress for @strangeloopbway, @thelivingmichaeljackson's musical that leads a tight pack with 11 nominations. BYU student @jillianoreo bravely flashed a Pride flag at her graduation. Now, the bisexual grad says she's ready for whatever's next, People Magazine reported. The infamously conservative school has an "honor code" that denies legitimacy to same-sex relationships. "I don't know if they are allowed to take away my degree," Orr told People. "I don't know if they're allowed to freeze my transcripts." Whatever BYU might do, "I'm ready to face it and take accountability and own that," Orr said, "because I'm not ashamed of what I did because I understand that there may be negative consequences to choosing what is right." As previously reported at EDGE, Orr, 28, flung her gown open during her graduation to reveal a Pride flag sewn inside as a lining. She later shared her story in a video on TikTok, as well as on Facebook. The story instantly went viral. In her video, Orr had explained that the school could punish LGBTQ+ people in same-sex relationships by expelling them and revoking their degrees, and said that because of this hard-line stance, LGBTQ+ students remained in hiding until after graduation. Gay author Eric Rosswood (@ericrosswood) wants LGBTQ+ kids to believe in themselves. In his new children's book "Strong," Rosswood tells the story of Rob Kearney (@worlds_strongest_gay), a gay strongman who trains himself to lift hundreds of pounds. As the story progresses, Kearney learns with the help of his husband to fully embrace who he is without worrying about what other people think of him. Rosswood co-authored the book with Kearney. The book is short, simple, and to the point. Each page features a drawing by Nidhi Chanani (@nidhiart). Each drawing comes with a short text that tells Kearney's story. The book poses a simple question for its readers: What makes you strong? In Kearney's case, his strength comes from not only his ability to lift heavy weights, but also from his ability to proudly be who he is. In an interview with our friends at @BayAreaReporter, Rosswood revealed that he first discovered Kearney's story in an online article and was quite taken with him. He found the story inspiring and felt that it would also inspire young people. The book follows Kearney through his childhood, when he was found to be an unusually strong kid. When he was 17, a teacher introduced him to Strongman, a competition which tested strength. Kearney began training. He ran, swam, and lifted weights, eventually being able to lift four hundred pounds. Whenever he finished training, Kearney would change into his colorful street clothes, which he felt were more representative of him. At one weightlifting event, Kearney meets Joey, and the two fall in love. Joey notices that Kearney always changes into drab colored clothes when he lifts weights, saying that strongmen don't wear bright colors. "Well then," said Joey. "I'll wear bright colors with you." Hundreds of students at a central Florida high school were told they won't get their yearbooks until they're censored to cover up images of students holding rainbow flags and a "love is love" sign during a protest of the state's so-called "Don't Say Gay" law. Lyman High School Principal Michael Hunter said in a statement on Monday that "pictures and descriptions" documenting a student walk-out in March in response to Florida's Parental Rights in Education law were not "caught earlier in the review process." "Rather than reprinting the yearbook at substantial cost and delay, we have elected to cover that material that is out of compliance with board policy so that yearbooks can be distributed as soon as possible," the principal's statement said. The yearbook's faculty advisor Danielle Pomeranz told the Orlando Sentinel that she was asked to check into putting stickers over the photos and captions depicting the walkout. She said it would cost $45,000 to reprint the 600 yearbooks. "This really shouldn't be happening because all we did as journalists was document what was happening at our school on our campus," Skye Tiedemann, one of the yearbook's editors-in-chief, told the Sentinel. "To have that covered up isn't right. ... This is censorship." Tiedemann told WKMG that students were supposed to have a party on Monday to have yearbooks signed by their classmates, but that was canceled. Students at the school in Longwood, which is near Orlando, have created a hashtag "Stop the Stickers," which is circulating on social media. Lidé, kteří nás v životě inspirují, jsou velmi důležití, právě oni nás posouvají blíž k našemu cíli. Inspirovat tě může i dobrá hudba – hudba, která tě baví. Dej průchod svojí fantazii a vytvářej si vlastní taneční kroky a sestavy. Inspirace je všude kolem nás, stačí se jen dívat. 4) Najdi se ✅ Nikdo netvrdí, že se musíš věnovat všem tancům, které existují. Najdi se, zaměř svou pozornost na jeden nebo dva taneční styly a v těch se co nejvíce zdokonaluj. Nezapomínej přitom také na svůj osobitý taneční projev. Každý dělá taneční kroky malinko jinak, čímž každý vyjadřuje svou osobitost a originalitu. Zapracuj i na tomto, protože i to je jedna z cest, jak lépe tancovat. 5) Poslouchej své tělo ✅ Pokud se svým tělem neumíš správně pracovat, může být pro něj tanec poměrně náročný. Tělo je dobré sledovat a poslouchat signály, které ti vysílá. Unavené tělo je náchylné ke zraněním, ke kterým může být opravdu snadná cesta. Odpočívej, věnuj čas zahřátí svalů, i strečinku. 6) Převezmi odpovědnost ✅ Občas si tanečníci myslí, že za to, jak oni sami tancují, mohou jejich trenéři. Lektoři ti na tanečních kurzech předají to nejlepší, co ví a umí. Jestli ti to ale k něčemu bude, už neovlivní.
