There are people who live and breathe among us but inhabit a universe nine realms above ours. These are the ones who carry an uncanny air of superiority about themselves. Like, they may have an atypical habit, a skill, or an opinion they believe is too celestial for the rest of the world. Take people who can understand the Australian accent or people who think their eating preferences are better than the rest of us, for instance. Recently, we saw videos from Dhirubhai Ambani International School’s annual day function go viral as so many celeb kids were seen either participating in a play or dancing and performing in some way or the other. And it really made us wonder, ‘Do all desi annual day functions look the same?’ Because, tell us you didn’t look at the make-up the kids were wearing at DAIS and think back to your own school days? We know we did. This is how we realised that be it a fancy, international school or a regular public school, most Indian schools look the same during the annual day functions. This year has been full of strange occurrences, but then again, I feel like this at the end of every year. 'What a whack year it has been,' is what pops up in my head. I adore winters, and no, the reason is not because I hate extreme heat or love wearing hoodies. The only reason I love this chilly season is because it reminds me of my childhood. From sitting with my grandma on a khaat and eating gajak with her to getting all winter clothes from the trunks and keeping them under the sun like some street market, I miss my childhood each time winter comes.
