Variety reported that openly gay actor Andrew Scott ("Fleabag," "Sherlock") has signed on to out filmmaker Andrew Haigh's next project: an adaptation of Taichi Yamada's novel "Strangers." Haigh is already well-known for his gay-themed movies "Greek Pete" and "Weekend," as well as the critically acclaimed hits "45 Years" and "Lean on Pete." He's also the co-creator of the short-lived HBO gay dramedy "Looking." Other A-listers joining the Haigh-adapted and -helmed film include Claire Foy ("The Crown," "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo"), Jamie Bell ("Rocketman," "Billy Elliot") and Paul Mescal ("Normal People").
