George Mladenov, the "Australian Survivor" contestant known to reality TV fans as King of Bankstown, has come out as gay, Australian newspaper the Star Observer reported. "The self-described 'political spin doctor' and President of the Bankstown Labor Party, was a contestant in the 'Australian Survivor: Brains vs Brawn' season in 2021," the newspaper recalled. Mladenov was on the radio show "Kyle and Jackie O" when host Jackie 'O' Henderson, asked about a moment on "Australian Survivor: Heroes vs Villains," on which Mladenov was also a contestant. The new season premiered last month. "George, did you get outed on the show the other day when Shonee said, 'Oh, I can't lose my only gay?'" O'Henderson inquired. "Why did she say that? Are you gay?" Mladenov's answer, the newspaper recounted, was, "Of course." "He added that he thought it was 'public knowledge,'" the Star Observer added, "and denied that Shonee had outed him. He joked that he should probably get his sexual orientation tattooed on his body." Asked about his relationship status, Mladenov let it be known that he's single and "Still looking." The hosts then asked him if he had a boyfriend. "Not yet. Still looking," said Mladenov, before going on to say that his celebrity status as a multi-season "Australia Survivor" alum hadn't affected his dating for either better or worse, and added, "I just don't think it's something that I've been prioritizing right now."
