French actor Gaspard Ulliel, known for appearing in Chanel perfume ads as well as film and television roles, died Wednesday after a skiing accident in the Alps, according to his agent's office and local authorities. He was 37. Ulliel portrayed the young Hannibal Lecter in 2007's "Hannibal Rising" and fashion mogul Yves Saint Laurent in the 2014 biopic "Saint Laurent." He is also in the upcoming Marvel series "Moon Knight," and was the advertising face of the Chanel men's fragrance Bleu de Chanel. On Tuesday afternoon, Ulliel collided with another skier on a slope marked as intermediate after turning left, presumably to join his friends on an adjoining slope, Anne Gaches, the Savoie prosecutor in Albertville, said in a statement issued Wednesday. Ulliel started in television while still in middle school and went on to win two of France's top cinema awards, the Cesar. Tributes poured in from shocked fans and the corridors of power. The British reality series "Love Island," formerly deemed "unsuitable" for same-sex romance, now seeks non-binary and LGBTQ+ contestants, UK newspaper the Daily Mail reported. "This year's 'Love Island' is set to be its most diverse yet, as it has been reported that the show's bosses are actively encouraging non-binary Islanders to apply," the article specified. British newspaper The Sun detailed that "Potential contestants asked to specify their gender on the application form are given the options of male, female, non-binary, prefer not to say, or prefer to self-describe. "They can also describe their sexual orientation as straight, gay, lesbian, bisexual or other." Former NFL player Colton Underwood says he avoided showering with teammates because he feared getting "turned on". Instead, he would skip the post-practice wash, TMZ reported. Underwood added that it was a "silly" thing to do, since "I never really was attracted to anybody who I played with, or coaches." Still, it was a fear of being outed that drove him to such extremes. Avoiding dressing and showering with his teammates was part of a larger pattern, Underwood related, saying, "There was just a lot of things that I sort of did differently than other players because I felt like I had to, because I didn't want questions to start being asked." That fear also drove other behaviors. Away from the locker room and his fellow football players, Underwood said, he tried to have sex with men he thought would also be "straight in their real life," Page Six detailed. "I don't think there was any man that was going to be coming out to get me because they would be outing themselves as well," Underwood explained, going on to say, "It wasn't like a ton of men. It was like a few, and they never had my real name". The comments are of a piece with remarks he's made on "Coming Out Colton," Page Six noted. "I was suppressing my sexuality so hard that I was taking medication daily to deal with depression and anxiety, and that made me a paranoid freak," the publication quoted Underwood as saying in the Netflix documentary series. "I didn't trust a whole lot of people, and I was trying to do anything and everything I could to protect a secret."
