"'Lightyear' was banned in the United Arab Emirates because it depicts homosexuality," The Guardian noted, referencing a same-sex kiss between one of Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger colleagues and her wife. A popular gay chef on TikTok says he was "shocked" at the similarities between the menu items he's been posting for a year and Postmates' newly released food recommendations for bottoms, according to Mashable. @_hall_that, who runs TikTok's "The Bottoms Digest" with his husband Mike Floeck, told Mashable that after Postmates started their "Eat with Pride" campaign — which details food choices for bottoms — "people were quick to notice the similarities" between his content and that of Postmates. Naturally, he checked out Postmates' content. "I opened the video and was completely shocked," Hall told the outlet. "They say that they were the first to create a bottom-friendly menu, when we were actually the first — over a year ago — to do so." A leading #transgender health association has lowered its recommended minimum age for starting gender transition treatment, including sex hormones and surgeries. The World Professional Association for Transgender Health said hormones could be started at age 14, two years earlier than the group's previous advice, and some surgeries done at age 15 or 17, a year or so earlier than previous guidance. The group acknowledged potential risks but said it is unethical and harmful to withhold early treatment. The update is based on expert opinion and a review of scientific evidence on the benefits and harms of transgender medical treatment in teens whose gender identity doesn't match the sex they were assigned at birth, the group said. Set over 10-episodes, the reboot of the popular 2000 — 2005 Showtime series, itself adapted from a 1999 British version, resets the story to present-day New Orleans. At the event, Meloni was "asked about his fitness routine," Vanity Fair recounted, and the fit 61-year-old actor held nothing back — including the fact that when he's working out at home, his exercise attire is his birthday suit. Meloni, "whose pert posterior has become the focus of many memes over the last couple of years, told the audience, 'I work out naked. It's my gym,'" the VF piece said. What's more, "he added that he also doesn't bother to 'black out the window,' giving his neighbors quite the eyeful every day," the article added. @Hulu's @lovevictorhulu — the spinoff series inspired by "Love, Simon" — comes to its conclusion in its third and final season. The series feels more sharply-written as its storylines resolve. As Season Two ended, Victor's (@itsmichaelcimino) relationship with Benji (@gsear) seemed in doubt, as Benji caught sight of Victor in a clench with new friend Rahim (@anthonykeyvan). Dashing off into the night, Victor made his choice between the two, turning up at the door of...But let's not spoil that. Suffice to say, every choice has its consequences, and what comes next blindsides Victor in the most painful way possible. Season Three shoehorns a lot into its fairly meager allotment of episodes — too much, really; it's inevitable that some relationships will feel underdeveloped, and some storylines have a rushed, truncated quality. That said, the show's humor is better than ever, and the best one-liners more equitably distributed. This feels like a more mature show, too, though in some ways that maturity seems a bit over the top. That said, the more mature approach also allows for greater realism in both matters of the heart and the way parents handle their kids' growing up. "Love, Victor" has grown into its own story — just in time for the story to end, alas. But this cast of likable characters have, like the series, come into their own; they will thrive just fine in fans' imaginations. Given the singularity of these details, it can only be the new @Hulu rom-com "Fire Island" from filmmaker @ihatejoelkim, a movie that's been greeted with enthusiasm by its target audience. But, reports say, "Fire Island" has also drawn criticism for supposedly failing the Bechdel test, a metric invented by out lesbian cartoonist Alison Bechdel to assess works based on, among other criteria, whether female characters talk with each other about something other than men. The film "is a modern, queer rewrite of Jane Austen's 'Pride and Prejudice,'" Newsweek said, "starring Bowen Yang as the lead alongside Conrad Ricamora, Matt Rogers, Tomas Matos and Torian Miller." "Margaret Cho also plays a housemother on the vacation," the article noted. Apparently, it was Cho's role that drew the condemnation of New York Magazine's Hanna Rosin, a writer who has also been a podcast co-host for NPR.
